Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home - Great Bridge Chapel on Jan. 13, 2026.
George Steven Wells, born August 18, 1957, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away in his home peacefully on January 11, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 68. Better know as "Steve" he loved the lord and reading the Bible and would talk about the Lord to everyone who would listen. While his passing was unexpected, those who knew him would agree that his greatest love was for his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Geoge C. Wells, Jr and Judith Ann Wells as well as his brother David Wells and brother-in-law Gary Hobbs.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Holly L Wells of 23 years. He was not only her husband but, partner in life to many adventures. He also leaves behind his sister Deborah Hobbs, brothers Tim Wells (Nichelle) and Dennis Wells (Jennifer), nieces Amy Wells (Ron), Beth Newcomb (Mike), Rachel Wells, Rebekah Cheatham (Grayson), and nephew Justin Wells. Three great nieces Haley Natalie and Violet, and great nephews Eli and Jonas Ray.
Also, very special in his life were Diane Sorey Thompson who always said something that made him laugh and Cyndi Pratt and her daughter Alexa Pratt whom he knew for many years and were like family. We also can't forget his dog Lacey Rose Faith Wells who was his partner in crime when taking a nap.
Steve was always a very hard worker and he worked for more than 40 plus years in the insulation field. His last employer was Quality Building Products. In addition to his fulltime job Steve worked 25 plus year's part time for Flowers Baking Company.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Steve's memory. A cause he and his wife contributed to for many years. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Great Bridge Chapel, 524 Cedar Rd., Chesapeake, on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 6-8pm. A service will take place at the same location the following day, Friday, January 16, 2026 at 11 am. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
