It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Walter White, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. George passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, at the age of 81, in his hometown of Blakely, Georgia.
George was born on Friday, December 10th, 1943, in Blakely, Georgia, where he spent his entire life. A dedicated and skilled mechanic, George was self-employed, serving the community with his expertise and passion for his craft. His work was not just a job but a testament to his love for fixing things.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patsy A. White, his parents, Frank Sanders White and Mary Lucy Lane White, his sons, George Walter White, Jr. and Howard Sanders White, his granddaughter, Paige Perkins White, and his siblings, Gladys White, Edward White, Rebecca Philmon, Winnefred Norton, Assie Berd, and James Lamar White.
He is survived by his children, Patsy Ann Walters (David), Ray White (Emily), and Frank White, all of Blakely, GA. George was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to sixteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy White (Ann) of Blakely, GA.
George's life will be celebrated with a funeral service at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Monday, October 27th, 2025, at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Sterling Jones. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the funeral home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
Pallbearers honoring George's memory will be David Walters, Jim Aldridge, George Ray White Jr, Mark Allen White, David J. Williams, Derrick Alan Williams, Michael Shane Williams, and Evan Driver.
Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, who have provided compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
