Mr. George O. Windham, Sr, who departed this life on September 29, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. He was born on September 23, 1930, and was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.
George O. Windham, Sr., will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine C. Windham; his children, Reginald Windham (Linda), Debbie Windham, Vanessa N. Windham, Yolanda K. Windham, Shanlitta A. Torres (Andre), Antonio L. Windham; his sister, Juanita "Pepper" Harris-Henderson; sister-in-law, Josephine Taylor; brother in-law, Ronald Ballard; seventeen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren; long-time family friend Bettye Bing, a host of nieces and nephews and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judge Windham Sr. and Lula Parham Windham; his children, George Oliver Windham Jr, Sebrinia Renay Hicks, Gregory Keith Windham Sr.; his grand-daughter Ebony Young; his sisters Lula Windham and Lummie "Mickey" Mathis, his brothers Robert Windham, Judge "Chili" Windham Jr., James "JM" Windham and other family and loved ones.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5 – 7 pm at Gus Thornhill Funeral Home, 1315 Gus Thornhill Jr. Dr., East Point, Georgia 30344.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 4-7 pm at Faith Chapel Funeral Home, 700 23rd Street East, Jasper, AL 35501.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church, 7845 Market Street, Oakman, Alabama, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
Interment: Oakman Memorial Gardens, Oakman, AL.
Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate George O. Windham, Sr.'s life.
George O. Windham, Sr. will be greatly missed and forever cherished in our hearts
