On September 21, 2025, the world grew dimmer as we said goodbye to Jason Lee Windham (Boom Boom)-a radiant soul whose light touched countless lives. Born on August 3, 1982, in Spokane, Washington, to Lorie Susan Howard and Robert Peter Windham.
Jason is lovingly remembered by his treasured daughter, Annabella Marie Windham, who was the light of his life and the heart of his world. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Jessica Marie Windham; his beloved niece, Ryle Marie Emmett; and nephew, Damon Slye Emmett. Jason leaves behind a close-knit and loving extended family, including Craig and Vicky Howard, Scott Howard, Lee and Molly Windham, and cousins Nathan, Mia, and Tyler Windham; Stacy, Austyn, Tyler, and Ben Howard. He was also deeply connected to his chosen family-Maria and Art Gil, Brother's Tiny Gomez, Alex and Art Gil, Sister Rose Rivera-and many others whose lives he touched and who held him dear.
He now joins those who preceded him in the afterlife: his beloved mother, Lorie Susan Schmidt (Howard); father, Robert Peter Windham; stepfather, Ron Schmidt; grandparents George and Betty Howard, and Dorothy and Duke Windham. Their embrace awaits him.
Jason spent most of his life in Spokane, though his childhood included memorable years in Lafayette, Indiana, after his mother married Ron Schmidt in the late 1980s. Returning to Spokane in the early 1990s, Jason grew up in the Spokane Valley surrounded by family and friends who became his chosen family.
Jason was a student of Spokane Valley High School and, as he often joked, a proud alumnus of the "School of Hard Knocks." Life threw its challenges, but Jason met them with resilience, humor, and an unforgettable laugh that could brighten even the darkest days.
He was known for his enormous heart and unwavering generosity. Whether offering a listening ear, a warm meal, a safe place to stay, or simply a kind word, Jason gave freely and loved fiercely. He often went out of his way to help those in need, reminding them they were seen and valued.
Above all, Jason was a devoted father. His daughter Bella was his guiding light, his greatest joy, and the reason he strove to live life to the fullest. Together, they shared adventures, discovered new hobbies, and explored the best places to eat-creating memories that will live on in her heart forever.
Jason was a "professional" in many things-always curious, always evolving. He was a man who never stopped investing in himself, constantly exploring new passions and hobbies that reflected his vibrant spirit.
Among his many talents, Jason was first and foremost an artist. A gifted tattooist, he spent 14 years honing his craft at Second Star Tattoo in Post Falls, Idaho. His work-etched into the skin and hearts of many-will live on as a lasting tribute to his creativity and soul.
Jason also had a deep love for cooking, a gift he inherited from his beloved mother, Lorie. Most recently, he shared his culinary talents as a cook at Hangrys in Post Falls. Whether in a professional kitchen or at home, Jason found joy in creating meals that brought people together. He had a knack for turning simple ingredients into unforgettable dishes, always crafting flavors that were as bold and comforting as he was.
Music was another outlet for Jason's artistic expression. He was a lyricist and poet, often recording tracks with close friends and pouring his emotions into every verse. Music gave him connection, healing, and a voice.
Jason's love for motorcycles was unmatched. No matter his mood, the answer was always his bike-it was both his escape and his freedom. Riding gave him peace, and he embraced the open road with the same passion he brought to everything in life. Some of his most cherished moments were spent riding with his daughter Bella, creating memories she will carry with her always. Jason truly rolled to the beat of his own drum-or rather, his exhaust.
Jason's legacy is one of love, laughter, loyalty, and compassion. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
