George Windish Obituary
George met and married the love of his life, Linda, in 1963. After a brief courtship they were married September 12, 1963, just prior to being deployed to the Philippine Islands at Clark Air Force Base. George joined the military in 1962 and proudly served his country as a Specialist 5th Class Army Intelligence.
After returning to the United States, George worked his way the corporate latter to become leader in the industrial world. Mack Trucks brought him to South Carolina where he lived the remainder of his life. After retiring as the Director of Management Development, he went to work as President of TCM Manufacturing where he remained until he retired and moved to Edisto Island to operate his consulting business. George and Linda's last adventure prior to moving home to Winnsboro SC was in Florida where they enjoyed 15 years of sun, laughter, dancing, and friendship. The last years of George's life were spent tending to the farm where he always loved to be. Gardening and being in nature were his lifelong passions. Known for his warm smile and generous spirit, he touched the lives of everyone who knew him. George shared his passion by authoring two books, "My Fathers Mansion" and "Tongues of Fire."
George is survived by his loving wife, Linda Windish; his child Holly Yandle, and son in law Timothy Yandle. He was preceded in death by his beautiful daughter, Robin J. Windish.
A celebration of George's life will be held at 2:00 Pm Monday, February 3, 2025, at Pope Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in George's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
George will be dearly missed but remembered fondly by all who knew him.
