George Lee Winn, 79, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, gained his heavenly wings on May 14, 2025. He was born July 9, 1945 in Topeka, Kansas to George Clayton and Velma June (Reid) Winn.
George served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1973, with an honorable discharge, receiving a Purple Heart. He retired from Traffic Signals in 2007. Hunting, fishing, and gardening were among his favorite things to do but he loved watching his grandchildren play and grow more than anything.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Velma; sisters, Lois, Marsha, and Debra; brother, Leroy; and son, Kevin.
George is survived by son, Jeff Winn; grandson, Daniel Winn; son, Brandon Winn and wife, Jessica; grandsons, Devin and wife, Tori Winn, Dalton Winn and wife, Jayci, and Leland Winn; daughter, Kristy Winn; granddaughters, Kayla Hallowell and husband, Austin, and Kylie Hillhouse; grandchildren from his late son, Kevin, Tristan Palmer and Madison Winn; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Robertson and husband, Andy, Mildred Tucker, Clovis and husband, William, Cleota and husband, Gerald Carter; brother, Norman Winn and wife, Beverly; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Per George's final wishes, he will be cremated. Services will be announced at a later date for friends and family. His final resting place will be with his parents. Arrangements were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
