Georgeann Marie James, 79, of Buffalo, Texas, left this world peacefully on August 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Georgeann lived her life with a gentle spirit and a heart full of forgiveness. She was laid back, thoughtful, and always ready to share a laugh with her great sense of humor. To her family, she was not only a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother—she was the heart that tied them all together.
She was married to the love of her life, Dennis James, and together they raised five children: Lori, Richell, Heather, Darren, and Jason. Her siblings, David and Dennis Blakey, were her lifelong companions in both love and laughter. Georgeann was blessed with a large and growing family, including twenty-one grandchildren (three of whom preceded her in death) and eighteen great-grandchildren (one gone before her). Each one held a special place in her heart.A true artist at heart, Georgeann saw the world through a creative lens. She loved photography, capturing moments both big and small, and she found joy in flipping through family pictures, each image sparking memories and smiles. She enjoyed art in many forms—coloring, drawing, and exploring her creativity. She loved playing games, shopping trips, and, more than anything, being surrounded by her grandchildren.
Her life was simple yet deeply meaningful—filled with family gatherings, laughter, love, and the little things that brought her happiness. She taught those around her the importance of patience, forgiveness, and cherishing every moment.Georgeann’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and family. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories told, the photographs she left behind, and the countless hearts she touched.
A funeral service for Georgeann, officiated by President Frazier Stern, will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Madisonville, Texas, on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 2 P.M. Visitation will take place one hour before the service starting at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in the Jozye Cemetery, Madisonville, Texas.
Final arrangements for Georgeann Marie James are under the compassionate care and direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
