Georgeanna Kuba Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 27, 2026.
Georgeanna Kuba, age 93, of Marion, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Georgeanna was born on October 22, 1932 in Richwood, Ohio to the late Clarence and Jane (Staley) Shoup.

Georgeanna grew up in the small town of Richwood and worked at Isaly's store and restaurant while in high school. In the late 1940's, two young men came by the restaurant, Earl Kuba and his nephew. Earl's nephew wagered him 2 cents that he couldn't land a kiss on the pretty waitress. By the end of the visit, Earl was 2 cents richer and before long, Earl and Georgeanna began going steady. Georgeanna went on to graduate from Richwood High School, class of 1950 and was honored to represent her school at Buckeye Girls State. Not long after graduation, on December 1, 1950, Earl and Georgeanna got married and would spend 72 wonderful years together.

Georgeanna went to work for General Telephone & Electronics Corporation, where she would spend over 40 years and worked her way up to senior accountant. She was also a proud member of the Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association. In retirement, Georgeanna and Earl enjoyed traveling and took many vacations together, visiting as many National Parks as they could. Over the years, they also became snowbirds and spent over 20 winters in Babson Park, Florida.

Georgeanna and Earl were both long-time members of the Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ and enjoyed volunteering with church projects. Georgeanna was also an auxiliary member of the VFW Post 3313 in Marion, American Legion Post 368 in Prospect, and the Marion Moose Lodge 448.

Georgeanna was a kind, caring person that loved God and her family with all of her heart.

Georgeanna will be dearly missed by her sons, Allen Kuba, Ritchie (Barb) Kuba, and Brian Kuba; her grandchildren, Andrea Kuba, Fred Kuba, Derek (Heather) Kuba, and Cody (Elizabeth) Kuba; her great-grandchildren, Giorgia, Giuseppe, N'Dira, Keanu, Danny, Lincoln, and Cameron; her sister, Edna Sue (James) Williams; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Georgeanna is reunited in Heaven with her loving husband, Earl Kuba; her granddaughter, Amanda Sue Kuba; her sister, Janice (Carl) Berridge; her brother, Dana (Bernice) Shoup; and her daughter-in-law, Brenda McDaniel Kuba.

Services celebrating Georgeanna's life will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Vernon Ave. Church of Christ, 947 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302, with Pastor Jeff Bush officiating. Georgeanna's family will greet family and friends immediately following the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Claibourne Cemetery in Richwood, Ohio.

Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Vernon Ave. Church of Christ Missions Fund.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Marion General Hospital, Woodside Village, and Tranquility Hospice for their tender, considerate care of Georgeanna.
