Dennis Kuba Obituary
October 10, 1946 - May 13, 2025
Dennis Michael Kuba passed away peacefully from complications of Parkinson's Disease on May 13th, he was 78 years old. Born and raised in Santa Rosa, Dennis lived and worked in Sonoma County for most of life. He attended Santa Rosa High School and the SRJC and then earned a BA, PhD, and LLM law degree before opening his own law practice here in Santa Rosa.
Dennis was a brilliant, funny, and kind man who loved his family more than anything. Anyone who met him couldn't help but adore him, people and animals alike. He was an avid wine and food enthusiast and an amazing amateur chef in his own right. He was also a passionate musician, playing the trombone with the SRJC, SSU, and community orchestras up until last year. He served on the board of the Santa Rosa Symphony for many years, including as president from 1993-1995. In his younger years, Dennis was an adventurer, living on a research vessel in Hawaii, living and starting a fisheries project in Rio de Janeiro, and living in Tucson where he drove race cars and earned a pilots license.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosanne Arthur, and his daughter, Jacquelyn Kuba and her wife Ashley Dohrmann, all of whom loved him fiercely. In lieu of a service, his family is asking for donations to be made to The Parkinson's Foundation at parkinson.org in Dennis' memory.
