Georgeen May Taylor, age 91, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on March 16, 2025, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay. She was born on December 17, 1933, to Harry and Viola (Grey) Grimsman in Arcadia, IA. Georgeen attended Arcadia High School, where she played basketball, was a member of the band, danced and performed in plays and several singing groups before graduating in 1951.
Upon graduation, Georgeen moved to Des Moines, IA where she worked for Standard Oil. On August 26, 1957, Georgeen married Ralph D. Taylor in Indianola, IA. A few years later, the couple relocated to Waukesha, WI where she gave birth to three of her four children: David, Carol and Steven. A fourth child, Timothy, was born after the family relocated to Sun Prairie, WI.
Georgeen was an exceptional mother. In fact, she enjoyed caring for children so much that she provided private daycare services in her home to the children of several local families in addition to raising her own four children. Georgeen was also a skilled data entry technician who provided evening shift key punch services to several Madison area companies, including EDS. After Georgeen retired in 1991 and Ralph retired in 1992, they relocated to Door County with daughter Carol where they lived for several years in Fish Creek before moving to their final home in Sturgeon Bay.
Survivors include Ralph, her husband of 67 years, her son David and his wife Carolyn, daughter Carol, son Steven, son Timothy and his wife Cassandra, grandson Cameron, granddaughter Alexandra and her husband Patrick and great granddaughter Charlotte. Georgeen was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Viola, her brother Charles and her two sisters Betty and Helen.
A private Celebration of Life memorial service for immediate family members only will be held at a future date TBD. Forbes Funeral Home is serving the family.
