Georgette Despres David

Georgette Despres David, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, South Carolina.

She was born in Niagara Falls, New York on February 19, 1931, a daughter of the late Raoul and Lilia (Roy) Despres.

Georgette attended Sacred Heart School and later graduated from St Mary's High School. She was employed by Moore Business Forms until moving to South Carolina in 1970. She continued her career at Kline Iron and Steel Company until her retirement. It was at Kline that she mentored many young people in the areas of accounting and is remembered fondly by those individuals.

She is survived by her daughter, Monette Trybala Sox (Randy), grandchildren Lauren Smith (Wilson) and Victoria Sox, and her great-grandchildren Lilia Smith, Huntley Smith, Ladson Lam and Wilson Smith, IV. She also counted as family her "adopted" daughters Pamela Mick, Sandra Hartley, and Kimberly Nates.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Peter Paul David, her son Arthur Raoul Trybala and brothers Edmond Despres, Harold Despres, Paul Despres, and Patrick Despres.

Visitation will be at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel on Saturday December 6 from 2-4 PM. A private memorial service will be held later in December.
