Georgette Kudelka, 95, of Chicago, recently of Barrington, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025. She was born on May 16, 1930 in Chicago to the late George and Anna Marmitt.
Georgette was an avid bowler through age 93 and was a member of a number of bowling leagues. Georgette also enjoyed golfing, swimming and fishing. She enjoyed embroidering pillows and gifts for the family until her eyesight prevented her from continuing. She was a master at the game of Scrabble and should have been a guest on Wheel of Fortune because she guessed the answers well before the contestants on TV. In her younger years she loved crossword puzzles and her desire to keep exercising her brain turned to Word Find puzzles as she aged.
She was active in the Saint Anne’s Society at St. Ferdinand Church in Chicago as well as in CFM whose mission is to help individuals and their families to live the Christian faith in everyday life; and to improve society through actions of love, service, education and example. She volunteered at the rectory at St. Ferdinand Church after retiring from her bookkeeping jobs in the food (A&P) and candy industry (Hoffman Vogler).
Georgette was an example for her family of sacrifice, service and perpetuating the value of family and faith.
Georgette will be deeply missed by her loving children, Georgeanna (Gregg) Mehr, Joseph George (Nancy Weil) Kudelka, Jr, Kurt George (Sheryl) Kudelka and Majella Ann (Ronald) Tylka; grandchildren, Robert Carl (Erin) Scarpelli, Jr., Jason Smalarz, Kari Ann Kudelka, Kyle Joseph (Kaysee) Kudelka, Drake Thomas Tylka, Allison Nicole Tylka, Tyler Nathan Tylka, and great-grandchildren, Nathan and Owen Scarpelli, Keegan, Kameron and Karsen Kudelka.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph in 2020.
Visitation will be Friday, June 6, 2025 from 9:30 AM until the funeral mass at 10:30 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Road. Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
