Georgia Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 10, 2025.
Georgia Thayer Benton Anderson, a devoted nurse, loving mother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and generosity.
Born in West Helena, Arkansas, Georgia moved to La Marque, Texas, at the age of eight. She graduated from La Marque High School and followed her calling to care for others by earning her nursing degree from Galveston College. This marked the beginning of a remarkable 50-year career dedicated to healing, service, and heartfelt compassion.
As a nurse, Georgia was the embodiment of dedication, empathy, and excellence. She found deep fulfillment in guiding others through their healing journeys, offering comfort and care with a compassionate heart.
Georgia's wit and contagious laugh were trademarks of her personality. She brightened every room and lifted the spirits of those around her. She never met a stranger, and her kindness and authenticity made everyone she encountered feel special.
Her greatest joy in life was her beloved son, Bryan Stewart Anderson, who preceded her in death. Bryan was the love of her life, and her deep, enduring love for him was evident to all who knew her.
Georgia was also preceded in death by her parents, Wellesby Ainsworth Benton Jr. and Violette Benton Streit; her brother, Wellesby Benton III; and her sister, Sally Benton Die Davis.
She is survived by her loving family: niece Adriana Die Rhea and great-niece Harper Rhea; nephew Andrew Die and his wife Maggie Die; and niece Jana Turner.
Georgia was an active member of Kingwood Presbyterian Church. Her friendships-from her church family and longtime nursing colleagues to her beloved circle of girlfriends-brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Georgia loved to travel and embrace life's adventures, cherishing recent trips to the beach, Alaska, and Las Vegas.
Georgia will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
