Georgia R. Garrett

GARRETT, Georgia R., age 92, peacefully passed away in the comfort of her daughter's home on August 28, 2009 in Richmond, Va., surrounded by her loving family. Georgia was the daughter of the late Willie and Josephine Quarles. Her husband, Willie J. Garrett, preceded her in death; as well as her two sisters, Martha Ellen Smith, Marble Brown; two brothers, Benjamin Brown and John J. Quarles; two grandchildren, Charles M. Ricks III and Stephanie Eileen Garrett. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Lorenzo Garrett (Regina), Odessa Ricks (Charles), Curtis Garrett (Bridget) and Gloria McGuire; one sister, Inez Smith (Howard); brother-in-law, Freddie Garrett (Maxine); sister-in-law, Annie Quarles; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. Her remains lie at the Jeffress Funeral Home in Brookneal, Va. The family will be receiving visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 7 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Brown Memorial Church of God and Christ in Nathalie, Va.
