Georgia Mae Gordon, 89, of Beloit, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Beloit Health & Rehabilitation Center in Beloit, Wisconsin.

The former Georgia Mae Evans was born on Monday, August 3, 1936, in Houston, Mississippi, the daughter of Reverend William Glover and Neddie (Bynum) Evans.

In 1955, Georgia graduated from Houston High School in Houston, Mississippi. Four years later she moved to Beloit, Wisconsin and worked at the Freeman Shoe Factory in Beloit until it closed. She then worked as a CNA at Beloit Health &Rehabilitation Center for many years until retiring.

Georgia was a member of the House of God Church in Beloit for many years where she served as an usher. Georgia was an avid fisherwoman. She loved dancing and being a jokester. Georgia was lovingly known as "Rapper G" to her children and grandchildren. She loved having company over, liked fashion, and enjoyed cooking. Georgia made the best dressing, three-layer German Chocolate Cake, and Banana Pudding. She also enjoyed crocheting.

Georgia is survived by her children, Kimberly Edwards, Tony Gordon, John Gordon, and Eboni (James) Pabst; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Allie Mae Harrell, and Nettie Mae Wade; sister-in-law, Alice Evans; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including her best friend Bobbie Nell Evans. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents Reverend William Glover Evans and Neddie Evans; sisters, Rosie Evans, Lily Mae Evans, Margaret Ann Thompson, Clemon Evans, Sallie Evans, Mary Ann Smith, and Gennette Hamilton; brothers, William "Ray" (Irma) Evans, Charles Evans, Tommie (Annie Lee) Evans, and Dannie Evans; and a brother-in-law, Ivory Wade.

Visitation is 11:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at New Zion Baptist Church, 1905 Mound Avenue, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511. Committal at Eastlawn Cemetery in Beloit will follow the service. Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511 is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. I will always remember Sister Gordon; when I a young teenager she was so very nice and faithful on her post as usher.
Her smile and patience will always be remembered as she will be so dearly missed!

There is a rest for the children of God and one day we will rejoice and praise him forever!!!

On behalf of my mother Elder Helen Jones I send my heart felt condolences and ALL our love
to Kim and Eboni and to the entire Evans family!
