Georgie Bettina Weaver, 87, of Beloit, WI, died on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
Tena was born on January 30, 1935 in Anderson, Missouri. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1954. She married John Weaver on August 1, 1959 in Dubuque, Iowa. She studied nursing at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing before becoming Director of Nursing at Beloit Memorial Hospital, retiring from that position in 1997. She then went on to teach CNA nursing in multiple facilities in the Beloit area.
Survivors include her sister, Mavis (Everett) Myers Barksdale; brother, Stan Lee Myers; children, Steven (Cindi) Weaver, Jill Weaver Hernandez, and Shawn (Rebecca) Weaver; grandchildren, Ed Hernandez, Adam (Stefanie) Hernandez, Amanda (Richard) Weaver Somelofski, Amber (Cody) Weaver Phillips, Justin Weaver, RheAnna Weaver; great grandchildren, Mercedes (Jason) Hernandez Granberg, Maddison Hernandez, Adam John Hernandez, Brooklyn Somelofski, Gavin Hernandez, Nathaniel Somelofski, Dominic Somelofski, Amelia Hernandez, Asher Phillips, Evie Phillips, Alijah Hernandez; great great-grandchildren, Beckham Granberg and Halston Granberg.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Weaver; mother, Margaret Taffner Myers; father, Thaddeus Myers; siblings, Mona (Daniel) Myers Ballah, Jimmy Myers, Donnie Myers, Steven Myers, Bonnie (Roy Jr.) Myers Dodson, and Brenda (Curtis) Myers Jackson.
Tena enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi River and teaching the next generation of Beloit's nurses. Most of all, she loved her family and seeing her grandchildren grow.
A Funeral Service for Tena will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Rev. Larry Froemming officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
