Georgina "Beverly" Wilcox, 90, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
Beverly was born on May 3, 1934 to Arthur and Rachel Denewett in Saginaw, MI. She married the late John M Wilcox, Jr on May 4, 1957 in Grayling. They were married for 51 years until his passing in 2008. She enjoyed making quilts, especially for all the grandchildren. Her favorite activities were playing Wii bowling at the senior center, going to the casino, and playing scratch-off lottery tickets. She also was a collector of dolls and beanie babies. She enjoyed going to Kirtland Community College to let the students do her hair and nails. She was a very happy, laid-back person with an optimistic attitude. Religion was very important to her along with her family, children and grandchildren, whom she loved so much.
She is survived by her children, John M Wilcox, III of Grayling, Clark (Terry) Wilcox of Washington state, Arthur J (Mary J) Wilcox of Grayling, Juliane Andrews (Gene) of St Johns, Stanley J (Liberty) Wilcox of Maryland, and Teresa (Fred) Raybould of Grayling; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Gloria, Terry, and Trisha; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband John M. Wilcox, Jr., grandchildren Jeff Hoesli and Mary Andrews, and siblings Arlene, Shirley, JoAnne, and Mary.
Visitation for the public will begin on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of Funeral Service at 2:00 PM all taking place at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Frederic, MI. A luncheon will take place following burial at the American Legion Post #106 in Grayling, MI.
