Mr. Gerald Neal "Jerry" Allen, age 73, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Baptist Health Louisville. Jerry was born August 10, 1950, the son of David William and Dorothy Lee (Lindsay) Allen.
Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt, fish, and collect guns. He enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering on his beloved Cincinnati Reds, Kentucky Wildcats basketball team, attending truck pulls, or watching his hometown Ladywave softball team.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Neal Allen; his sister, Arzella; and his brothers, Billy and Terry "Runt". He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 ½ years, Bobbie Greer Allen; his son, Jason Robert Allen and his wife, Alison; three grandchildren, Jasey, Kole Wayne, and Addi; his sister, Carol Jean Triplett; his mother-in-law, Jean Greer; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Monnie Greer, Connie (Chuck) Metcalfe, Michael Greer, Donna Ford, and Diana (Mike) Compton; numerous nieces and nephews; and his many fishing buddies.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Rock Haven Baptist Church, with Revs. William "Happy" Chandler and Garry Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Cap Anderson Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, and at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
