Funeral services for Gerald Wayne Baker will be held Monday, April 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery.Gerald Wayne Baker was born August 25, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to George H. Baker and Josie Faye (Clay) Baker. He passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025 in Collinsville, Oklahoma at the age of 74.Gerald was a longtime resident of the Okemah area and grew up in near Clearview. He was also a 1969 graduate of Okemah High School. After high school, Gerald, went to barber college in Tulsa and later studied drilling fluid engineering at Seminole State College. Gerald and Jeannie Sue Adams were married July 2, 1970 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma; she preceded him in death March 27, 2025. Gerald owned and operated Geralds Hair Repair in Okemah for over 20 years and worked with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for 25 years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting and gardening and was known for his many watermelons he grew.Also preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Bobby Baker.Survivors include his daughter, Kim Prater and husband Robert of Ada; one son, Jerry Baker and wife Rachel of Owasso; two brothers, Gary Baker and wife Manneta of Ryal and Terry Baker and wife Barbara of Weleetka; one sister, June Bynum of Okemah; 5 grandchildren, Kiersten Madron, Christian Baker, Skylar Burns, Levi Prater and Ashton Baker and 5 great-grandchildren, Casen, Montana, Kendall, Landri and Keaton.Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Bo Gibbs.Online condolences may be made at www.ParksBrothersFuneralHome.com.
