Gerald "Gerry" M. Bertrand, 79, of Menominee passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Aurora Bay Care in Green Bay. He was born on September 27, 1945, to the late Elmer and Cecilia (Hornick) Bertrand in Menominee. He graduated from Menominee High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. On September 4, 1965, Jerry married Karen LaFever; she preceded him in death in May of 2007. He had worked as a supervisor for Ansul for many years. He was a member of the Menominee American Legion and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and the great outdoors.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Stacey (Kyle) Russell; grandchildren: Arianna (Ryan) Johnson, Morgan (fianc, Noah Nicholson) Lackie, Tanner Russell, and Morgan (Johannes) Dhn; great grandchildren, Olivia and Eric; sister in law, Sandra (Wayne) Jackson. In addition to his parents, and wife, Karen, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Bertrand.
A Graveside service will be held at Birch Creek Cemetery on Sunday, April 27th at 1pm with Deacon Chuck Gervasio officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Military Twenty Year Club. A Celebration of Life will follow the service at the American Legion from 2-4pm. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
