Gerald E. "Jerry" Briede

LUDLOW - Gerald "Jerry" Ernst Briede, 89, of Ludlow, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Jerry worked for Wiedemann Brewery. He was a graduate of Newport Catholic, where he played football. He was elected to the Northern Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame and was a lifetime member of Covington Turners. Jerry enjoyed watching sports and playing cards. He lived in Hilton Head for a time and enjoyed the ocean climate. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Mabel Briede and siblings Joe Briede, Sally (the late Ed) Hill, Sue (the late Evey) Craven, Jim Briede, and Mike Briede. He is survived by sibling Nancy (the late Charlie) Collett and sister-in-laws Barbara Briede and Mary Briede, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at Don Catchen & Sons Funeral Home, 3525 Dixie Hwy, Elsmere, KY 41018 on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from noon until 2. Internment at the Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
