Gerald Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wiley Funeral Home - Granbury on Feb. 18, 2026.
We bid farewell to our beloved Gerald George Brown, who passed away on February 11, 2026, in Granbury, Texas. He was born on August 12, 1932, to George and Ada (Holmes) Brown, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Gerald was a man of adventure and spirit who found joy in every moment of his 93 years.

Gerald's adventurous spirit was truly remarkable. He ran an impressive 35 marathons, held a black belt in Aikido, and even earned his tandem skydiving "wings" at the ripe age of 93 after five exhilarating jumps. He was a professional architect and interior designer. Gerald loved creating art to share with others. His zest for life was infectious and inspired everyone around him.

Gerald was a proud veteran of the Korean War and a member of Roll Call, a veteran's organization in the DFW area.

Yet, for all his accomplishments and pursuits, what mattered most to Gerald was his family. He was a loving husband, having spent 68 cherished years with his wife, Kathryn "Kay" Diane Brown. He was a devoted father to his sons, Jeffery, Robert and James.

Gerald is preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Brown; parents, George and Ada Brown; sister, Lorraine Brown.

He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Brown and wife, Joan; Robert Brown and wife, Pam; Jim Brown and wife, Monica; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Join us in celebrating the adventurous spirit and the loving heart of Gerald, who touched our lives in countless ways. Friends and family are invited to a visitation in memory of Gerald from 5-7pm, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Wiley Center, 420 E Hwy 377, Granbury, Texas, 76048. Burial is scheduled for 9:00 AM, Friday, February 27, 2026 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas, 75211.
