Gerald Castellano, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Bayshore, NY. Born on April 23, 1935, in Queens, NY, Gerald lived a life marked by his dedication to family, service, and community.
A proud veteran, Gerald served his country in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. His commitment to service was a testament to his character, reflecting qualities of courage and strength. After his military service, he built a loving home and a life filled with cherished memories alongside his wife Josephine, to whom he was married for an admirable 65 years.
Gerald is survived by his devoted wife, Josephine Castellano, and their children: Joanne Goldberg (married to Mark Goldberg), Elizabeth Silver (married to Lewis Silver), Stephanie Desio (married to John Desio), Gerald Castellano (married to Brenda) and Paul Castellano (married to Kelly), His legacy continues through his ten grandchildren Stephanie, Maria, Gabrielle, Sarah, David, Stephen, Gina, JT, Emily and Victoria as well as his one great-grandson Kayden, who will remember him fondly. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Sullivan.
Gerald's family invites all those who knew him to join them in celebrating his life during visitation services at Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home on March 3, 2025. The first session will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by a second visitation period from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A Mass will be held in his honor at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church on March 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
As a man who touched the hearts of many, Gerald Castellano will be deeply missed but warmly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
