Gerald Michael Chample, age 82 of Broadview Heights, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Crosby) for 43 years; loving father of Renee Trotter (Todd); stepfather of Tony Lane and Jeanne Lane; devoted grandfather of Tara Whittaker (Rick), Ashley McWaters, Joshua McWaters (fiancée, Krystal), Tyler Cullen, Danielle Jewell, and David Lane; great-grandfather of Sarah, Teagan, Haiden, Everley, and Paxton; uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Patricia Chample (nee York) and his sisters, Patricia Eminger and Gloria Daymut (Steve, deceased), his twin sister.
Jerry retired from Lincoln Electric after 35-plus years of employment as a lab technician and EMT. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved spending time outdoors and was a volunteer with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Jerry was still in touch with many friends and fellow graduates from the Rhodes High School Class of '61.
A celebration of life will be held for Jerry at 4pm on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH 44129. Family will receive friends for a memorial gathering from 2pm until the time of the service.
