GERALD W COCKERHAM, a beloved member of his community, passed away on September 20, 2024 at the age of 66 in Dallas, Texas. Born on October 8, 1957, in Ringgold, Louisiana, Gerald led a life characterized by dedication, hard work, and a generous spirit.
Gerald's professional journey included significant roles as a warehouse worker, assembly line worker, and hospital worker, showcasing his commitment to service and diligence in every task he undertook. His work ethic was matched only by his giving nature; he was known for always being there for others, often backing loans for those in need.
Educated at Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Texas, Gerald later pursued further studies at Richland College, continuing his lifelong learning. His passion for football grew during his younger years, where he played enthusiastically. Gerald also remained an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, cherishing the team's spirit and camaraderie. Fishing was another of his cherished hobbies, providing him with moments of relaxation and enjoyment in nature.
Gerald is survived by a loving community that will deeply miss his warm presence, kind heart, and unwavering support. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity and a life lived with purpose.
Visitation will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home, located at 4155 South R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224, on September 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will follow on September 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas.
