Gerald R. Cote of Niskayuna, NY passed away on November 12th at 85 years old. Jerry was born in Derry, NH on July 21,1940 the son of Rene and Germaine Cote.
Jerry graduated from Pinkerton High School and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Engineering.
Upon graduation from college, Jerry went to work for the General Electric Company. His career at GE included many different assignments in several of GE's businesses and locations all over this country. He rose through the management ranks to become a GE Vice President and finished his 30 plus career with Vice Presidential assignments in Louisville, KY and Schenectady, NY.
Jerry married the love of his life Sally in July of 1963 and they were able to enjoy - years of togetherness, Jerry was an avid sports enthusiast, playing three sports in high school and football in college.
He was a wonderful father and loved to coach and watch, his late son Brian, in little league and high school baseball.
Later in life Jerry started to play golf and it became a passion for many years both as a competitor and playing with friends and family.
Jerry was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and watched or listened to every game.Jerry is pre deceased by his late wife Sally and son Brian and is survived by Andrew (Sydney) and Christopher (Julia), and his two great grandchildren, Sunday and Archer, who brought him immense joy. At Jerry's request there will be no service.Memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Foundation for Ellis Hospital, 1101 Nott Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
