Gerald Currier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jowett Funeral Home and Cremation Service & Reception Center - Port Huron on Aug. 1, 2022.
Gerald August Currier went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on July 31st, 2022, after a long fight. Gerald was born January 24th, 1941, in Worcester, Massachusetts to Elmer and Arline Currier. He was very proud to serve his country in the United States Navy, where he worked as an E3, electrician mate.
He met the love of his life, Ruth Marlene Thieke, in 1977 in Nevada, where they quickly fell in love and have been inseparable for the past 45 years!
To his friends, he's Jerry! To their kids, and grandkids, he's POPS! He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth, their children; Jerry Jr. from Arizona, Linda Lee from Warren Michigan, and Ginger Lee from Texas, along with their grandchildren; Robert, Jennifer, Marissa, Brandon, Allie, Joshua, Samantha, three great grandbabies; Angelo, Juliette, Hunter, his brother Chip (Joann) Currier, and a special niece Donna Marie.
Jerry was an avid fisherman, a dedicated NFL fan, (primarily the Patriots) and an entrepreneur, from owning their "Currier Electric" Company in California, to their restaurant, "Hot Dog Ruthies" in Arizona, and most recent internet business in Florida, "Home Games for All". Ruthie was his right-hand gal through it all. They also lived in Nevada and Massachusetts, before coming to Michigan to be closer to family. Jerry spoiled his love with trips to the islands and cruises. They really are the true meaning of love. Jerry was the provider, the protector, and the glue to his family.
Jerry persevered thru many medical difficulties and surgeries over the last decade and still, in all of that, was solid on living his life to the fullest. (And never quit eating his desserts.)
His love is an example to us, that in the end, the only thing that matters is how we love and treat each other. He passes a legacy on to the rest of us to forgive quickly, love deeply, and treasure what we have in each other, for tomorrow isn't promised to any of us.
