Gerald Ray Davis, Jr., known to all as Jerry, age 62, of Corsicana, Texas, passed away on July 27, 2024, at Navarro Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Jerry was born on January 11, 1962, in Lynwood, California, to Gerald Ray Davis and Lena Beard.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Amanda Davis, sons, Haden Davis, and Jeremy Davis and his fiancée Ariel McPherson; his sister, Sharon Croger; and his grandchildren, Eli Davis, Kennedi Davis, Lydia Davis, Madison Davis, Zoey Seagroves, Jaydin Jones, Trenton Jones, Kendrick Thomas, Jr., Myleigh Huerta, Phoenix Huerta, Tatum McPherson, River Collier, and Ava Collier. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Brenda Kowalski and Sandra Kaiser.
Jerry had a passion for fishing, playing guitars, and music. He was a dedicated sports fan, especially of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. Above all, Jerry loved spending time with his family. He started working at a young age and maintained a strong work ethic throughout his life. Jerry was known for his simplicity, selflessness, and his readiness to help others, often putting their needs before his own. He would always stop what he was doing to help his kids, embodying the spirit of a devoted and caring father.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 1, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Friday, August 2, at 10:00 AM at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Jerry's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness and generosity. He will be dearly missed.
