Born Gerald Emanuel Diedrich to Joe and Mary (Feldhaus) Diedrich, Jerry transitioned to his forever home on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Welcoming him home were his parents, siblings, grandson Ryan Lintvedt, as well as many family members and friends.
Lovingly referred to as "Farmer" by his family, Jerry lived a life of perseverance and determination. Jerry began farming with two of his brothers at the tender age of 17 when his dad retired. Without complaint, he did what he needed to provide for his family. His life story is a testament to his inner strength and faith in God.
A charmer with those baby blue eyes and devilish grin, Jerry met his match when he married an Irish lass, Patricia (Pat) Devine, in 1952. To this union 12 (yes, 12) children were born: Rod, Don, Doug, Del, Dee, Mat, Mike, Jody, John, Mona, Cory and Carrie. Thanks to Pat and Jerry's hard work, this rowdy group of Diedrichs were able to enjoy a great life on the family farm north of Presho.
Jerry's family has continued to grow through the years with children's spouses, 27 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. The Family Tree is 103 strong, with one on the way! Jerry was blessed to be called "Grandpa" by several neighborhood kids as well. When family gathered, Jerry loved nothing more than to sit back and watch the chaos he had created of course, shutting off his hearing aids helped!
A gentle man with a great sense of humor and a quiet wealth of knowledge, Jerry will be missed, yet forever treasured. As he summarized in his journal – "good life".
We echo those words, good life Farmer. We felt your love always and send you home with love and gratitude. Rest in Peace Farmer

this is Lenard Lien(Irvins son). worked for him in the 60s...he was a neighbor. He was on the road selling fire warnings? at the time. Enjoyed it with his wife and 12 kids!!! Sorry for the loss and looking forward to seeing him again in the ressurection

What great neighbors, our closest, 2 miles to the south, I remember Gerry and Frank having coffee while filling Gerry´s water tank in the back of his pickup at our place to water his cattle, I guess they had well problems or hadn´t drilled theirs yet

my condolences to the family. i will always remember when pat and Jerry picked us up and we stayed overnight. the schoolbus filled up pretty fast when it stopped at their house.

As a child, I loved it when Jerry and Pat came to our house to visit my parents, John and Cleo Urban. That glint was always in Jerry´s eyes and laughter and joy abounded. Sending deepest condolences to Pat and all the Diedrich´s.
