Laura "Lori" Olson

Laura "Lori" Ann Olson was born on January 18, 1967, in Sacramento, CA, to Wesley and Sandra (Novak) Olson, Lori's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and enduring relationships. Her journey on this Earth came to a peaceful close on February 16, 2026, in Pierre, SD.

Lori's early days were spent in the vibrant community of Sacramento, where she graduated from William Daylor High School in 1985, embarking on a path of service by joining the United States Army.

After serving, Lori returned to the Golden State before her path led her to North Dakota in 1998 alongside her daughter Danielle, mom sister Denyse and niece Jynelle. She later settled in Pierre around 2010.

Lori's zest for life found expression in many avenues: from the roar of Harley Davidson motorcycles to victories of video games; from the tender care of gardening to the joy of creating culinary delights in her baking. She loved spending time in the yard, welcoming the sun on her face and the music in the air.

Professionally, Lori was a woman of many talents, having worked a variety of jobs. However, it was her collaboration in construction and remodeling with Scott that she found most fulfilling, applying her hands and heart to build and restore space where memories would unfold.

Lori's love encompassed a family she held dear. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Danielle Olson, her sister Denyse (Scott First) Olson, her niece Jynelle Chamberlain, and her cherished great nephews Rhyder and Maverick and great niece Mackinzie. Her extended family, a vast and warm network, will forever honor her memory. In her departure, she joins her beloved parents, her nephew Christopher, and many beloved aunts and uncles.
