Gerald Gallitz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Craig Funeral Home on Jan. 6, 2026.
Gerald Francis Gallitz, age 87, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.
He was born on January 8, 1938, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Edna Gallitz and Joseph F Gallitz.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph E. Gallitz.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine L. Gallitz; his sister, Judith M. Farkas; and his sons, Joseph Gallitz (Sherry), Todd Gallitz (Karen), Robert Gallitz (Sharon) and stepdaughter Sandra Hamrock (David). He is also lovingly remembered by his eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride.
Gerald was a man of faith whose life reflected devotion to his family, humility, and a deep trust in God's grace. Gerald was blessed to have a long retirement, being active with his grandchildren and volunteering with the church and school.
Gerald is now at rest and has been called home to the Lord. May he be welcomed into eternal life and reunited with those who have gone before him. We entrust him to the mercy of God and find comfort in the promise of the Resurrection.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church in St. John, Florida on Thursday, Jan. 8th at 10:30am with a Funeral Mass immediately following. A celebration of Gerald's life will be at Robb & Sherry Gallitz home afterward.
In lieu of followers donations can be made to his church: San Juan Del Rio - https://www.parishgiving.org/index?e=3050ab1f5eafebe5878387b5e1b1928b0021c519b0919e41 To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Gerald Francis Gallitz, please visit our floral store.
