Gerald Credle Gibbs, II, 73, of Deep Run, passed away on Friday, September 26th, 2025, at Signature Health in Kinston.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville.

Gerald will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman whose greatest joy was found in the hunt and beauty of nature. His love of travel took him on many adventures, with Alaska holding a special place in his heart. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, he had a gift for making others laugh. Above all, he treasured time with his family and friends, who will forever carry his stories, laughter, and love in their hearts.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Ella Justice Gibbs.

He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Hines and husband Steve of Florida; his granddaughters, Caroline and Emily; his significant other, Anita Turner; and numerous extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's memory to your local SPCA or to the Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw.

I was saddened to hear of my cousin´s death as I have many childhood memories of playing baseball in grandmother´s pasture with all my cousins in North Carolina. My sister´s and I travelled from California by car every year for our summer vacation to the farm and the Family reunion in August. So many good memories! I am so glad I got to see him last 2 years ago at the reunion. He will be truly missed. Karen Jordan from Davis California
