Gerald is survived by Viola, his wife of 63 years; three sons-Terry (Sue) Goettle and James (Rhonda PIatz) Goettle of Ashley and Paul (Cindy) Goettle of Bismarck; one daughter-Kristie (Neil) Schnabel of Ashley; daughter-in-law, Michelle Goettle of Gwinner; one brother, Mike (Jerri) Goettle of Coweta, OK; two sisters-Mary (Steve) Howard of Brandon, SD and Patricia (Tony) Koester of Orville, CA; 11 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Carlsen-Lien Chapel, Ashley. Interment follows at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ashley.
Visitation, with family present, will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday at Carlsen-Lien.
Gerald's funeral will be livestreamed at the Lien Family Funeral Care Facebook page.
