Gerald Vincent Hallman, 93, of Breitung Township passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers, MI.
Gerald was born February 1, 1931, in Iron Mountain, MI, son of the late Theodore and Evelyn (Oliver) Hallman. Gerald graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1949 and was a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the Michigan National Guard for several years. Gerald married Marilyn Gorrell on June 9, 1951. He was employed with the Wisconsin-Michigan Power Company (now WE Energies) for 38+ years, retiring as a construction inspector in 1988. Gerald was a member of the IBEW and the Dickinson County Mounted Sheriff's Patrol. He and his wife Marilyn were involved in raising & showing horses over the years. He loved animals, especially his two springer dog buddies, Jeb & Zoe. Gerald was an excellent carpenter and also enjoyed old cars, John Deere tractors and going for side x side rides.
He is survived by three children, Randy (Jackie) Hallman of Breitung Twsp., Jill Selleck of Lansing, MI, and Chris Hallman of Breitung Twsp.; seven grandchildren, Haley (Paul) Magwood, Sarah Selleck, Bryan (Samantha) Selleck, Giana Nieto, Chase, Evelyn and Henry Hallman; several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren; a brother, Robert of Maine; and a sister-in-law, Karen Fortner of Iron Mountain.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
In accordance with Gerald's wishes, private family services will be held.
