Reeves Funeral Home - Coal CityGerald Thomas "Jerry" Haff born November 17, 1951 in Sandwich, Illinois, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Morris Hospital, Morris, Illinois (Grundy County). Jerry was the son of Gerald George and Nona Faye (Mann) Haff. He was the grandson of Herbert and Martha (Willie Johnson) Mann and George Almarion and Parthenia (Geraldine McDowell) Haff.
Jerry spent many years in local communities, helping to establish the ambulance district in Morris and working with the ESDA in Grundy County. He was Post Commander for Mazon American Legion #352. Jerry absolutely loved his children and especially loved being a Grandparent to ten and Great Grandparent to two. Jerry and his siblings honored their family farming history with Minneapolis Moline antique tractors; that were entered into many shows, parades and festivals.
Jerry is survived by four children: Salli (Richard)Bowen of Arbela, Missouri, Jerry (Kristina)Haff of Ottawa, Illinois, Randy (Sabrina)Haff of St. Francisville, Missouri and Rebecca (Chad)Nolte of St. Francisville, Missouri. Partner, Lisa Wren of Kinsman. Grandchildren: Kenny (Selena)Haff of Illinois, Sierra (Hunter)Murphy of Iowa, Joey (Laura Pilla) Bowen of Missouri, Dakotah Haff of Missouri, Nathaniel Haff of Marseilles, Brooke Haff of Missouri, Chloe Bowen of Missouri, and Wyatt Sanford of Maine, Christopher Haff of Marseilles, Gerald "Jerry" Hailey and Stanley Haff of Ottawa. Two Great-Grandchildren: Oliver Haff and Calliope Murphy. He is survived by brothers and sisters: Richard (Gretchen)Haff of Illinois, Lori Haff of Illinois, Penny Tvrdik of Illinois, Ruth (Brad)Lirot of Illinois, Sue Hageman of Illinois, Pat (Milo) Rangel of Texas, Stan (Jennifer)Haff of Illinois, and Roger Haff of Illinois. Jerry always had a special bond with his aunt, Becky Goetsch, his God-Mothers Diane Kelly and Judith Olson and his best friend's wife, Coletta Ashby, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Reeves Funeral Home in Coal City (One block east of Route 113) from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the celebration of life at 1:00 p.m. A burial will immediately follow at Ward Cemetery in Mazon, where he will receive full military honors. Mazon American Legion #352 will host a luncheon following the burial. A celebration of life will also be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at his residence for family and friends beginning at 10 am. Memorials can be made to the family or to the American Legion Post #352 Mazon.
