Gerald E. ‘Jerry’ Kamark, 82, of Merrill, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.
Jerry was born January 14, 1943, in Olympia, WA, son of Chester and Dolores (Schwertfeger) Kamark. He worked in maintenance at C&H Sugar, Kmart and Shopko in Wausau. Jerry also worked at Seeger Dairy in Merrill. Jerry was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Merrill. He enjoyed camping, fishing, building model cars, racing remote cars, drawing, and working on puzzles. One of Jerry’s favorite pastimes was going to the casino. Although Jerry was quiet and reserved, he was a loving and caring person.
Survivors include his sisters, Barbara (Peter) Samolinski of Wausau, Marie (Thomas) Strandberg of Merrill, and Theresa Grund (Brad Mattson) of Irma; brothers, Chet (Linda) Kamark of Appleton and Mark (Debbie) Kamark of Oshkosh; 13 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Dolores Kamark; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
The funeral service for Jerry will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 3, 2025, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation – 301 Eagle Dr., Merrill. Father John Long will preside. Burial will take place in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Merrill. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M., Friday at the funeral home.
