KOLCH, Gerald Raymond – of Davison, MI, age 84, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Monday, June 30, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Interment, with Military Honors, immediately following the Mass in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12:30-1 PM Monday, June 30, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in Gerald's memory.
Gerald was born in Detroit, MI on May 1, 1941, son of the late Adolph and Madeline (Krankel) Kolch. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1967-1969. After his military service, Gerald dedicated over 30 years of hard work and commitment to General Motors. A man of deep faith, Gerald was a devoted and active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where he found spiritual fulfillment and community. Gerald was a sports enthusiast through and through. He loved both watching and playing the games, always bringing his competitive spirit and warm smile to every match. Gerald also enjoyed the excitement of casino trips, the fun of card games, and, most of all, the joy of being surrounded by his family and friends. Gerald's life was one of service, loyalty, and love-a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Gerald is survived by 3 siblings, Nancy Melvin, Mary (Lawrence) Matera and Joe Kolch; sister-in-law, Tammy Allen; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Madeline Kolch; wife, Suzanne E. (Allen) Kolch; 2 step-daughters, Nicole "Nicky" Lee Palmer and Tammy Haener; 2 siblings, Martha (Eugene) Brigance and Frank (Marcia) Kolch and brother-in-law, Charles Melvin.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Gerald's sister-in-law, Tammy Allen, for her unwavering dedication, care, and friendship throughout the years. Her compassion and support brought immense comfort and meant the world to Gerald and those who loved him.
