Gerald E. “Jerry” Lange, 73, of Kiel, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dickeyville, Wisconsin, with Rev. Thomas Kelley and Deacon Larry Tranel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
Jerry was born on November 10, 1952, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Arnold “Arnie” and Catherine (Salzmann) Lange. He graduated from Cuba City High School in 1970 and UW-Platteville in 1974 with a degree in business and accounting. Following graduation, Jerry earned his CPA as well as a master’s degree from Marquette University.
Jerry worked for Brandt Automatic Cashier Company in Watertown, Wisconsin, and later for Sartori Cheese in Plymouth, Wisconsin. In his younger years, Jerry played accordion, followed by piano and guitar. He enjoyed making pottery, macrame, gardening and landscaping. Jerry was an avid reader, having a large collection of leather-bound books, an exceptional cook and loved tending to the birds outside. He collected Presidential Christmas ornaments and beer steins. Jerry enjoyed playing cards, board games and golfing with his brothers and nephews. Above all, Jerry was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, godfather and great uncle who will be remembered for his caring, generous and hard-working nature.
Survivors include his siblings, Tom Lange, Apache Junction, AZ, Jim (Joanne) Lange, Cassville, WI, Chuck (Marcia) Lange, Jackson, WI, Linda (Tom) Gerlich, Cuba City, WI, and Al (Lonna) Lange, Kiel, WI; his nieces and nephews, Matt (Karen) Lange, Rachele (Chad) Breuer, Doug (Jennifer Jacobson) Lange, Adam Lange, Jen (Alex Kain) Fullhart, Ryan (Blake Hebert) Gerlich, Alissa (Ben) Leistico, Kristin (Andy) Weber, Laura (Steven) Orth, and Nicole (Brandon) Neupert; and 19 great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Lange.
