Gerald Robert Lynch

Beloved father, husband, and friend, Gerald (Jerry) Robert Lynch, passed away Thursday, December 14th in Chicago, Illinois.
Jerry was born in Chicago on May 10th, 1942. He attended Marmion Military Academy in Aurora, Illinois and obtained his degree through Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon graduating from Marquette, Jerry went straight to Vietnam as a doctor for the Marines from 1967 - 1968. He completed his military tour and returned to Chicago. Once in Chicago he opened his own dental practice in Water Tower Place. Jerry was an avid golfer, loved diving, boating, and especially loved having a drink with his friends at the pub (especially Corcoran's). Jerry was raised Irish Catholic and was devout his entire life. Jerry's heart was completed by the birth of his first and only child, Alicia Marie Lynch. Jerry was a phenomenal father, although older than the average dad. He showed up to all of Alicia's sporting events, took her camping every year as a child, and of course made sure she went to mass every Sunday. His soft side shined through when he was around Alicia and many would say his purpose in life was to be a dad.
Jerry is survived by his beloved daughter, Alicia, and his partner Mary Lynch. He is also survived by his sister, Kit Lynch, as well as his nieces and nephews, Kevin Lynch, Maureen Molo, and Lindsay Wood.
Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, January 5th, 2024 at 11am. A celebration of life will follow at Jerry's favorite pub, Corcoran's, in Old Town.
