Gerald Michael Napolitano ObituaryGerald Michael Napolitano, 85, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025 in his home with his surviving wife, Nadine Przech Napolitano, and his loving children. "Jerry" was born December 10, 1939 in Hartford, Connecticut. He grew up in Bristol, Connecticut with fond childhood memories of sledding down Peck Lane in the winter, and spending summers at Rocky Neck Park.
Jerry's passion was in the automotive field where he worked for many years. Jerry is credited with owning one of the first Kawasaki dealerships in North America in the mid 1960's. He passed this love of mechanics to many of his children.
After exploring numerous parts of Connecticut, Jerry and Nadine chose to settle in Milton shortly after their marriage. Home was where Jerry was happiest, their door was always open to friends and family, with a well established " no knock " policy. In his earlier years, Jerry was reliably found in the garage, tinkering with various projects, during his "tractor years " he was well, usually digging something up, and in later years his base of operations transitioned to "his chair" that was dependably flanked by his multiple beloved dogs.
Jerry was a great conversationalist and storyteller, with a particular fondness for listening to Paul Harvey on the radio. The famous line, "and now you know the rest of the story," is a core memory for all his children. He had a deep appreciation for music and an open mind towards the creative process in all forms of art. Jerry loved discussing history and genealogy, singing with his guitar, a perfect cup of coffee, researching kitchen gadgets and recipes, and above all, enjoying a good meal, which he defined not only in its contents, but in its company.
Although Jerry was an only child, he and Nadine were blessed with eleven children and a current count of eleven grandchildren: He was predeceased by his daughter Jesicha, and his parents, Elsie and Michael Napolitano. He is survived by his daughter Erika, her husband Mark Herringler and their 2 children Seth & Ruth; his daughter Rachel, her husband Calaidhe Curtiss and their daughter Searlait; his son Joel, his wife Kristina (Hart) and their children Nicholas, Eve & Lillian; his daughter Natasha, her husband Bruce Taft and their children Owen & Alivia; his daughter Nydia, her husband Craig Squire and their son Wyatt; his sons Noah & Ethan; his son Aaron, and his wife Clarissa (Baker); his daughter Megan, her husband Kevin Arel and their children Rayla & Soren; and his son Elijah.
Jerry lived by a " family first" principle. He didn't hide the fact that he felt his greatest accomplishment in life was not only his children but watching them carry forward " family first " in their own lives and their children's lives. Many times during gatherings, as the Italian family noise and chaos grew, he would sit back and tell anyone close by just how proud he was of it all. While Jerry's spirit is always with us, we will miss him deeply. In lieu of flowers, enjoy a meal with family in his honor.
A celebration of life is planned for the summer, details to be updated.
