Gerald "Jerry" Olson, age 72, passed away on February 12, 2025, in Denton, Texas. He was born on August 16, 1952, in Peoria, Illinois to parents Gail Maynard and Anna May (Collins) Olson.

A proud graduate of Glasford High School, Gerald spent his life pursuing his love for music. He was often seen with a guitar in hand, delighting friends and family with his original songs. A fond memory was playing guitar alongside Grandpa Tom and his good friend Johnny. These cherished moments reflect the warmth Gerald shared not only in music but also in life.

Gerald’s laughter was infectious, as he was a big kid at heart. He could easily turn a mundane day into an adventure, whether it was irritating Grandma Judy playfully or spending time cruising on the water, fishing, or enjoying a quick meal at McDonald's. His passion for life extended to joyful cruises and quality family time, which he held dear.

Among his proudest accomplishments was marrying Judy Reil, the love of his life, with whom he shared countless cherished memories. Their bond was a testament to his caring nature and deep affection for family and friends.

Gerald is preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Pryor.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Judy Olson, of Denton, Texas; son, Todd Winder and wife Telissa of Kemp, Texas; daughter Wendy Crockett and husband William of Denton, Texas; granddaughter, Amber Brumfield and husband Jason; grandson J.D.
