Gerald "Lane" Parry, age 97, passed away on November 4, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Care Facility in Red Oak, Iowa.
Lane was born in Carson, Iowa to Robert and Glenn (Perry) Parry. His parents raised Lane along with his older sister, Marcell in Carson, Iowa. Lane graduated from Carson High School in 1946. On August 26, 1949, Lane met Mary Patricia (Pat) Scheibeler. They met on a blind date and were married one year later on August 26, 1950 in Red Oak, Iowa.
Lane and Pat had two children, Paula Sue and Gregory Melton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; son, Greg (Melva); sibling, Marcell Bailey; and sister-in-law, Phillis Scheibeler.
Lane is survived by his daughter, Paula (Dean) Pilling; grandchild, Bradley Swope; niece, Judi Van Horn; and nephew, Chuck Hill.
He has been cremated and there will be no public service.
