Gerald-Patric De La O, age 54, passed away unexpectedly from a massive heart attack on May 24, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family.
Gerald was born to Roger and Anita Lupe De La O and raised in a close-knit and loving family. He is survived by his father, Roger De La O, and mother, Racheal De La O. Gerald also leaves behind his first wife and lifelong friend, Jamie Garcia De La O, and their beloved son, Aiden. He is also survived by his devoted wife, Rebeca De La O, and their precious daughter, Anita Aniyah De La O, born just three weeks before his passing—a long-held dream come true for Gerald.
In addition to his immediate family, Gerald is survived by his siblings Joseph (Suzann), Raul (Katheryn), Robert (Crystal), and Lisa Lucero; his stepchildren Tommy, Kenny, Yesenia, Javier, and Santiago; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Anita Lupe Barreras De La O, and his brothers Randy and Leonard De La O.
Gerald attended Rio Grande High School and later studied at the University of New Mexico. His professional journey reflected his love for hospitality and service. He served as General Manager at both Hotel Serene and CAAZ Hospitality LLC and was also a talented chef at the Old Town Sheraton Hotel. Gerald had a true passion for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for others.
Above all, Gerald was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering desire to help those around him. As an organ donor, he gave the gift of life to three individuals—one final act of compassion that truly embodied the way he lived.

• Visitation & Rosary: July 6th at 6:30 PM at Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW
• Funeral Mass: July 7th at 10:00 AM at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd. SW
• Graveside Service: To follow at 11:00 AM at Mount Calvary Cemetery
• Reception: Immediately after the burial at St. Edwin’s Parish Hall
