Mr. Gerald Percy Pearce, age 82 of Lulu, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025. Born in Lake City to the late Nathan and Bernice Tyre Pearce, Mr. Gerald was a lifelong Columbia County resident and a 1961 graduate of Columbia County High School. He was employed by the Florida State Department of Corrections and for more than twenty-five years was a corrections officer at Florida State Prison in Raiford, Florida. He will be remembered as never meeting a stranger, as he loved people and enjoyed conversation. Mr. Pearce was an avid Florida Gator football fan and loved to read. He enjoyed being outside, working in his yard and going fishing. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years: Carolyn Pearce and his daughter, Sandra Pearce of Lulu. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Melvin Pearce and sister: Annie Mae Goulet. No services are planned at this time. Guerry Forbes Funeral Home of Lake City is honored to serve the Pearce family.
