Gerald Mace Kent Smith, lovingly known as Jerry, was born on March 1, 1953. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Jerry lived a life rooted in faith, service, and love for others. He passed away knowing he was deeply loved and leaves behind a legacy that will continue in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela, with whom he shared a life filled with laughter, devotion, and unwavering partnership. He was a loving father to his daughters, Katrina and Amber, and a cherished grandfather to Jacob, Elijah, and Kayla, who brought him immense joy and pride.
He is also survived by his mother, Ruth; his sister, Susan; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Stanley and JoAnn; his nephew, Christopher; his niece, Gina; along with their spouses and children. Jerry was blessed with several loved cousins and extended members who held a special place in his heart.
As a Christian, Jerry's faith guided every part of his life. He loved sharing his Jesus Calling books with anyone who would listen, always eager to spread
Encouragement, hope, and the love of Christ. His faith was quiet yet powerful, lived through kindness and genuine care for others.
Jerry was a proud United States Army Veteran and a firm believer in all things 'American-made and America-first', values he held close and spoke about with conviction.
For 37 years, Jerry worked as a realtor, a career perfectly suited to his personality. He loved negotiating contracts – so much so that he would do it anywhere, even if it meant writing one on a napkin, His dedication, integrity, and enthusiasm made him respected and admired by clients and colleagues alike.
Jerry embraced life fully and joyfully. His hobbies included fishing, golf, waterskiing, baseball with Budsters, and most recently cornhole with the PCC Pacific Coast Cornhole league in Pleasanton. Trips to the casino were another favorite pastime that brought him excitement and fun.
If you were blessed to know Jerry, you were probably given a nickname- a small but meaningful way he made everyone feel special. One of Pamela's greatest joys was watching Jerry connect with people, making each person feel seen, valued, and loved.
Jerry also had a personal tagline he lived by: "JS I AM"
He will be remembered for his faith, patriotism, humor, generosity, and the genuine love he gave so freely. Jerry's legacy is not only in what he did, but in how he made people feel-and that legacy will live on forever.
