Gerald passed away Thursday September 18, 2025, at the Wakefield Health Care Center. Memorial funds in memory of Gerald may be directed to the family.

Gerald Lee Stalling was born April 6, 1947, in Wayne to Emil Wilhelm and Martha Sophie (Stolle) Stalling. His family farmed southeast of Wayne where he grew up. He attended country school District #33 southeast of Wayne and graduated from Wakefield High School. He served in the United States Army while stationed in Germany from 1966 to 1969. Gerald married Mary Kay July 5, 1974, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple lived northwest of Wakefield where Gerald farmed with his father. Later, Gerald and Mary farmed near Winside, before moving into Wayne in 1986. Gerald began working at Vakoc Construction and then for many years at Midland Equipment.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Mary; their children, Chad Stalling of Jansen, Ryan Stalling of Lincoln and Megan (Jack) Spielman of Omaha; grandson, Cody Alan Petersen; brother, Steve (Carol) Stalling of Wausa; sisters, Peggy (Gary) Gochnour of Olathe, Kansas and Joni (Steve) Kraemer of Omaha; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Harry Frederick and Elsie Mae (Wert) Kay; sister-in-law, Sandra Clarkson; brother-in-law, Roger Kay; nephew, Jimmy Clarkson; many uncles, aunts and cousins.
