Gerald Ray Stephens, Sr., age 85 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at his son’s home.
He was born in Pine Knot, Kentucky on August 25, 1939 the son of the late Howard and June (Moses) Stephens. Gerald had been a crane operator, a lifetime member of the VFW, and served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict November 1957 – January 1960. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in later years he enjoyed shooting practice and listening to NASCAR on the Radio.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy (Constant) Stephens; brothers, Merrill Stephens and Bruce Stephens; sister, Brenda Stephens; and grandchild, Nikki Terry.
Survivors include his son, Gerald Ray Stephens, Jr. of Pine Knot, Kentucky; daughter, Lisa Stephens Terry of Oneida, Tennessee; brothers, Ronald Stephens of Independence, Kentucky and Gary Stephens of Pine Knot, Kentucky; sister, Wilda June Stephens of Carrier Mills, Illinois; grandchildren, Travis Terry, Eddie Tucker, Elizabeth Laxton, Dakota Gilreath, Caleb Colton Smith, and Allison Terry and great-grandchildren, Lexie Woolum, Lily King, Mila King, and Finn Terry. His step-daughter is Joni Borgstadt and step grandchildren are Shawn Pearson, Taryn Woodson and Wyatt Borgstadt and step-great grandchildren are Atticus and Elowyn Wooden and Virgil Borgstadt.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Cody Canada officiating. Burial to follow in the Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Thursday at the Funeral Home.
Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
