Gerald Douglas (Gerry) Sullivan, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Baptist Health Louisville.

Born in Westerly, Rhode Island, on August 28, 1946. Graduated from Saint Michael's College, Winooski Park, Vermont. Moved to Louisville, where he met his wife Judy Hudson and continued his career with 1BM. He worked at IBM for 30 years. He loved to paint pictures and build custom frames to display his art. He was a black belt in Kenpo Karate. Previously very active with the Irish Society of Kentuckiana.

Gerald is preceded in death by his wife Judy; his parents Doug and Iva Sullivan; brother-in-laws Kenny, David and Paul Hudson.

He is survived by son Doug Sullivan (Crystal) and grandson Thaddeus; brothers John Sullivan and Tom Sullivan (Kathy); brother-in-laws Terry, Jim and Tom Hudson; many nieces and nephews; devoted friend and caregiver, Becky Craven.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, April 6th at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.

Funeral Mass will be at 9:30am on Tuesday, April 7th at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 S. 6th Street. Graveside service to follow Mass, at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 11045. 6th Street, Louisville, KY, 40203, in Gerald's memory
