James Gregory "Greg" McCoy

James Gregory "Greg" McCoy, age 76, passed away on March 24th, 2026. Born in Louisville on November 14th, 1949, he was the son of Ruebush and Elizabeth McCoy.

Greg was a graduate of St. Xavier High School, Bellarmine College and the University of Louisville. He built a career as an accountant and established his own firm, McCoy Financial Services.

Greg loved music. He was a drummer who enjoyed jazz and playing Beatles songs with his brother and cousins. He was an avid reader, a runner, and a devoted fan of The Andy Griffith Show, which he never tired of watching. He will be missed for his friendly and outgoing nature and his ever present sense of humor.

Greg was preceded in death by his father; and his sister, Leslie McCoy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Marlene; his mother, Betty McCoy; daughters, Leslie Claire Delgado (Steven) and Melanie Laurel McCoy (Chase Speiden); sisters, Lisa Gueltzow and Claire Boldrick; brothers, Chris McCoy and Kevin McCoy; and his four grandchildren, Kieran, Riley, John and Lucy.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.

His funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, 1826 Edenside Avenue, with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana, Hosparus of Louisville or the donor's charity of choice.
