William Daniel "Bill" Chanda, age 83 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026 after a long illness, surrounded by family at home.  Bill was born on October 19, 1942 in Stratford, Connecticut to the late Anne (Pruzinsky) and William Chanda. He moved to Louisville, Kentucky at 10 years of age and graduated from Saint Xavier High School. He worked as a Tooling Engineer, retired in 2000 after 34 years of service at GE Appliance Park. Bill also worked at Precision Tool & Die Co. and Stauble Machine & Tool Company. He enjoyed cooking, working with his hands, being outdoors in nature, and working in his vegetable garden.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Wanda Chanda (Davis); children Jason (Victoria), Matthew (Wendy), Elizabeth, & Rebecca; 4 grand children, Rhett, Rachel, Maddie, & Nathan; sister, Catherine (Glenn); brother, John (Sue); several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service at Duncan Memorial Chapel, 5600 Old Floydsburg Rd, Crestwood, KY 40014 on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery.
